BOPT(ER) Recruitment 2024: The Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) (BOPT(ER)) has announced notification for the Upper Division Clerk/Lower Division Clerk/Multi-Tasking Staff posts. There are three vacancies available for these posts. Candidates with Any Degree/12th/10th qualifications are eligible to apply for this job. Detailed Eligibility for BOPT(ER) Careers:
Educational Qualification for Group C Posts:
Upper Division Clerk (UDC):
- Essential: Degree of recognized University or equivalent.
- Desirable: Knowledge of typing, 5 years experience in Govt. or NonGovt. office.
Lower Division Clerk (LDC):
- 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University.
- A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer.
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Matriculation or equivalent
Age Limit (As on 29 December 2024):
- Upper Division Clerk: 27 years
- Lower Division Clerk: 27 years
- Multi-Tasking Staff: 25 years
Age Relaxation:
- Schedule Caste: 05 Years
- Scheduled Tribes: 05 Years
- Other Backward Class: 03 Years
- Persons with Disabilities: 10 Years
- SC/ST Persons with Disabilities: 15 Years
- OBC Persons with Disabilities: 13 Years
- Employees of Central / State Govt. / Autonomous Bodies / Central & State PSUs having minimum of 03 years of regular service on a permanent post
- Persons with Disability (OH): Length of service in Military + 10 years (maximum upto the age of 50 years)
Salary Details:
- Upper Division Clerk: Rs. 25,500/- to 81,100/- (Level 4)
- Lower Division Clerk: Rs. 19,900/- to 63,200/- (Level 2)
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Rs. 18,000/- to 56,900/- (Level 1)

Selection Process for BOPT(ER) Careers:
- The selection process will be based on the Written Examination & Skill Proficiency Assessment Test (SPAT)
- The Written Examination as well as Skill Proficiency Assessment Test (as applicable for different posts) will be held at the centers located in the district of Kolkata / North 24 Parganas only.
- Written examinations/tests will be conducted in English and/or Hindi.
Written Examination:
- The written examination/test shall be conducted online computer based Test (CBT) and or Pen Paper-based Test (PBT)
- Psychometric Test (written test to ascertain the General Fitness of the candidates for the job). [Screening in nature.]
- Objective (Multiple Choice) Question Written Examination (OQWE) [Merit determination]
- Post Specific Written Examination (PSWE) (Subjective/Multiple Choice) [Merit determination
Skill Proficiency Assessment Test (SPAT):
- Mode of examination i.e. CBT (Computer-based test) and or PBT (Paper-based test) to be notified at the time of recruitment.
- The language of examination shall be in English and or Hindi
Computer Based Test:
LDC:
- Screening: MCQ (100 Question) (2 Hours)
- Qualifying: Typing proficiency test to be conducted on computer (duration 10 minutes). The criteria for qualifying the exam shall be at a speed of minimum of @35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi on computer.
- Merit determination: MCQ (100 Questions) (2 Hours)
MTS:
- Screening: MCQ (100 Questions) (2 Hours)
- Merit determination: MCQ (100 Questions) (2 Hours)
UDC:
- Screening: MCQ (100 Questions) (2 Hours)
- Merit determination: The SPAT test shall be conducted to evaluate working knowledge in Typing. (15 Minutes)
- Merit determination: MCQ (100 Questions) (2 Hours)
