Assam Irrigation Department Recruitment 2020 has released the job notification for the post of Subordinate Engineer, Junior Assistant, Section Assistant, Power Pump Operator, Primary Investigator with 643 vacancies. Candidates with the qualification of 12th/ Degree/ Diploma/ ITI within the age limit of 18 to 38 years are eligible to apply for this job. The selection process is based on the written exam and computer proficiency test/skill test. Eligible candidates can apply online on or before 08 January 2020. Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
For Subordinate Engineer (Civil/ Mechanical):
- Certificate of Draughtsmanship in Civil/ Mechanical or passed the two years course of 3 years Diploma Course in Civil/ Mechanical from a recognized Polytechnic/ Engineering institution
For Junior Assistant:
- Candidate must have passed Degree Examination in any discipline from a recognized university or any examination declared equivalent thereto having Computer knowledge (MS office compulsory)
For Section Assistant:
- H.S.S.L.C or equivalent (10+2 Examination) passed from any recognized Board/Council.
For Power Pump Operator:
- H.S.L.C or equivalent Examination from any recognized Board/Council with ITI Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical or passed H.S.L.C or equivalent examination with minimum 8 years experience as Helper.
For Primary Investigator:
- H.S.S.L.C or equivalent (10+2 Examination) passed from any recognized Board/Council in any stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
Note: Candidate must be Permanent resident of Assam.

Assam Irrigation Department Selection Process:
Selection will be based on the basis of OMR based written test and Computer proficiency test (as applicable).
Written Examination Pattern:
For Junior Assistant (HoD Level and District Level):
- The written examination will be for 100 objective type multiple choice questions
- For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark.
- The questions not attempted will receive no credit or discredit.
- On the basis of marks obtained in Written Test and on Verification of original documents, the final panel will be prepared for appointment in order of merit.
