AP Police Recruitment 2022 โ€“ย  The Government of Andhra Pradesh invites online applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts of Sub Inspectors/Police Constables through State Level Police Recruitment Board(SLPRB). There are 411 vacancies for Sub Inspectors and 6100 vacancies for Police Constables. The Educational qualification of the candidates must be Any Degree/Intermediate. Interested candidates can apply on or before 18 January 2023. The detailed eligibility and selection process are given below.

About AP Police โ€“ Andhra Pradesh Police Department is the law enforcement agency of the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Andhra Pradesh police force is headed by the Director-General of police, Damodar Gautam Sawang. Andhra Pradesh State Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB) is responsible to recruit the candidates for the Andhra Pradesh police department by conducting the written examination, medical test, physical test followed by the interview.

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

Sub Inspectors:

  • Degree or any other equivalent qualification.
  • In the case of a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, as on 1st July, 2022, he/she must have passed Intermediate or equivalent examination and should have studied degree.

Police Constables:

  • Intermediate or its equivalent examination.
  • In the case of a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, he/she must have passed SSC or its equivalent examination and should have studied Intermediate and appeared for the Intermediate Examinations of 1st year and 2nd year.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Civil Sub Inspectors/Police Constables: Men & Women are eligible.
  • APSP Reserve Sub Inspectors/Police Constables: Only Men are eligible.

AP Police Recruitment Selection Process:

Sub Inspectors:



Preliminary Written Test:

Two papers (each of three hours duration). The candidate needs to qualify in each of the two papers.

  • 1st Paper: Arithmetic (SSC Standard) and Test of Reasoning/Mental Ability (100 Questions) (Objective type).
  • 2nd Paper: General Studies (100 Questions) (Objective type) (Degree Standard).

Physical Measurement Test & Physical Efficiency Test:

  • Candidates who qualify Preliminary Written Test will appear for the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.

Final Written Examination:

Four papers (each of three hours duration):



  • Paper I: English (Descriptive in nature) (Degree Standard)
  • Paper II: Telugu or URDU (Descriptive in nature) (Degree Standard)
  • Paper III: Arithmetic (SSC Standard)and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (Objective in nature) (200 questions)
  • Paper IV: General Studies (Objective in nature) (200 questions) (Degree Standard)

Final Selection:

  • Civil Sub Inspectors: Paper III consisting of 200 marks and paper IV consisting of 200 marks, total 400 marks, will be taken into account for final selection.
  • APSP Reserve Sub Inspectors: Based on their score in the Final Written Examination (Paper-III-100 Marks, Paper-IVยญ100 Marks, Total 200 marks) and Physical Efficiency Test (for 100 marks), totaling to 300 marks.

Note: The Final Written Examination Paper I and II are qualifying in nature.

Police Constables:

Preliminary Written Test:

One Paper (three hours duration) for 200 marks (200 Questions): Intermediate Standard:

  • Subject for the examination: English / Arithmetic (SSC Standard)/ Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability /General Science / History of India, Indian culture, Indian National Movement. / Indian Geography, Polity and Economy / Current events of national and international importance.

Physical Measurement Test & Physical Efficiency Test:

  • Candidates who qualify Preliminary Written Test will appear for the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.

Final Written Examination:

  • Candidates who qualify in the above Physical Efficiency Test shall be required to appear for the final written examination in one paper (three hours duration) for 200 marks.
  • Subject for the examination: Intermediate Standard): English / Arithmetic (SSC Standard) / Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability /General Science / History of India, Indian culture, Indian National Movement. / Indian Geography, Polity and Economy / Current events of national and international importance.

Final Selection:

  • Civil Constables: Based on their score in the Final Written Examination for 200 marks.
  • APSP Constables: Based on their score in the Final Written Examination (for 100 marks) and Physical Efficiency Test (for 100 marks), totalling to 200 marks.

Application Fee:

  • Sub Inspectors:ย Candidates with local candidature of Andhra Pradesh, belonging to OC/BC Rs. 600/-, SC/ST โ€“ Rs. 300/-
  • Police Constables: Candidates with local candidature of Andhra Pradesh, belonging to OC/BC Rs. 300/-, SC/ST โ€“ Rs. 150/-
