About North Eastern Railway – NER is one of the 18 railway zones in India. Its headquarters is situated at Gorakhpur, and NER has three divisions of railways they are Varanasi City Railway Division, Izzatnagar Railway Division, and Lucknow NER Railway Division. It is the most important transit zone to take food grains from northern railway divisions to the Eastern belt and the Northern Frontier region. North Eastern Railway recruitment will recruit more than 1000+ Apprentices for the various roles in the railways.

Educational Qualification:
Junior Technical Associate (Engineering):
- Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering OR B.Sc. in Civil Engineering of three years duration OR a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute OR
- Four years B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering OR a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Junior Technical Associate (Signal):
- Three years Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering OR a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institute OR
- Four years B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering OR a combination of any sub-stream of basic Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Junior Technical Associate (Electrical):
- Three years Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Information Technology/Communication Engineering/Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering OR a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Electrical/Electronics/Information Technology/Communication Engineering/Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering from a recognized University/Institute OR

Note:
The candidate must have secured minimum marks in Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma as given below:
- General candidates: 60%
- OBC–Non Creamy Layer: 55%
- SC/ST Candidates: 50%
- Preference shall be given to the GATE-qualified candidates.
Duration: The engagement will be purely on a contract basis up to 19 November 2023 from the contract date.

Salary based on class of city:
- “Z” class: Rs 25,000/-
- “Y” class: Rs 27,000/-
- “X” class: Rs30,000/-
Selection Process:
The selection process will be based on Qualification/Experience/interview of 100 Marks.
GATE Percentile/Qualification: 55 marks
- 50% marks will be awarded based on the GATE Percentile.
- For this purpose, the GATE Percentile of the candidate will be multiplied by 0.50. The GATE Percentile of the last five years, i.e. Year 2017 onwards only shall be considered. If a candidate has more than one GATE Percentile, the highest percentile shall be considered for award marks.
- 5 Marks will be awarded to the candidates having graduation (BE/B Tech) or higher qualification in the streams specified.
Experience: 30 marks
- 5 Marks shall be awarded for each completed year of experience in the respective field subject to a maximum of 20 Marks. Only the experience of working in Government/Semi-Government/PSU Projects shall be considered.
- 5 Marks shall be awarded for each completed year of experience working in Railway Projects in the respective field subject to a maximum of 10 Marks.
Personality/Intelligence/Interview: 15 marks
- Candidates 03 times in number shall be called to appear in the Personality Test. The candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in the Personality Test based on marks obtained for GATE Percentile/Qualification.
- During the Personality Test, the candidates shall be awarded marks on the following broad guidelines:
- Technical knowledge in the relevant field (Practical and theoretical knowledge of the work, knowledge of quality tests, specifications, Codal provisions, etc.): 5 Marks
- Personality, initiative, communication skills and general awareness: 5 Marks
- Proficiency in computer work, CAD, CAM, Project Management, etc.: 5 Marks
Application Fees:
- For candidates from SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, Persons With Benchmark Disability (PwBDs), Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes: Rs-250/-. A refund of Rs. 250/- will be made to those candidates who appear in the Personality/Intelligence Test after deducting Bank charges.
- For others: Rs. 500/- A refund of Rs. 400 will be made to those candidates who appear in the Personality/Intelligence Test after deducting Bank charges.
