NRCB Recruitment 2024: The National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) has announced notification for the Graduate/Diploma Apprentices Post. There are 11 vacancies available for this post. Detailed Eligibility – ICAR NRCB Recruitment:

Educational Qualifications:

Apprentices: 

Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices:



  • A Degree in Chemistry/Bio-Technology /Computer Science/Computer Application (Regular – Full-time) granted by a Statutory University/Deemed University in a relevant discipline – UGC approved

Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:

  • A Diploma in Engineering or technology (Full-time) granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in a relevant discipline.
  • A Diploma in Engineering or Technology(Full-time) granted by a University in a relevant discipline.
  • A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

Note: Bachelor of Science/B.C.A./Diploma passed (in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 only) and who have registered in MHRD NATS Portal (www.nats.education.gov.in), which is mandatory.

Duration: The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of ONE year as per the Apprentice (Amendment) Act 1973.

Age Limit: Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship rules.

Age Relaxation: The age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship rules.

Stipend: 

  • Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 9,000/-
  • Technician Apprentice: Rs. 8,000/-

Selection Process of NRCB Careers:

  • Engagement of Graduate and Technician Apprentices will be purely made on merit basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in Graduate and Diploma respectively.
  • The final rank list would be prepared according to categories General / SC / ST /OBC / after certificate verification comprising of ADT BoAT (SR) and Officials ICAR — NRC for Banana, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
  • The interview schedule to the eligible shortlisted candidates will be communicated, through candidate’s Registered Email address only.
  • Certificate Verification will be held at ICAR — National Research Centre for Banana, Thogamalai Road, Thayanur Post, Tiruchirappalli — 620 102, Tamil Nadu.

ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana was established on 21st August 1993 at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, by ICAR, New Delhi, to increase the production and productivity of bananas and plantains through mission mode basic and strategic research approaches. The Centre works on four major thrust areas of research, viz., crop improvement, crop production, post-harvest management, and crop protection. It has well-equipped laboratories for tissue culture, biotechnology, soil science, nutrient management, physiology, biochemistry, entomology, nematology, fungal, bacterial, viral pathology, and post-harvest technology research.
