NIT Silchar – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Project Title: Sustainable development of groundwater resources by the preparation of hydrogeological and hydrogeophysical database of Barak River basin, Cachar, Assam
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- Essential: GATE-qualified candidates with minimum M. Tech in the field of Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Hydraulics Engineering with a B.Tech in Civil/Equivalent Engineering from reputed institutes.
- Desirable: Research/project experience in the field of water resources engineering, knowledge of groundwater analysis, knowledge of MODFLOW and GIS software, subsurface investigation
Duration: 03 Years or till Completion of the Project, whichever is earlier (extension of selected candidates would be based on a performance review every 12 months)
Age limit (As on 22 October 2024): 28 years
Age Relaxation: Relaxation as per the Govt. of India Rules.
Salary Details: Rs. 31,000/- p.m (Revised salary of Rs. 37,000/- subject to the sanction of funds from DST-SERB) HRA @9% if the Institute Accommodation is not provided.

Project Associate – I:
- Minimum B. Tech./ B.E./M.Tech degree in ECE/CSE/EE/E&I
- Desirable Experience: Research/ Project experience in the field of Machine Learning/ Deep Learning
Duration: 2 (Two) years or till Completion of the Project, whichever is earlier (extension of selected candidates would be based on performance review every 12 months)
Age limit (13 October 2024): 35 years
Age Relaxation: Relaxation is as per the Govt. of India Rules.
Salary Details: Rs. 25,000/- month (+ H.R.A as per institute norms)
