Educational Qualification :
Research Assistant: Graduation in Law
Tenure of Appointment: 1 year ( May be extended to 2nd year on the basis of Government sanction for the continuance of the post and performance assessment).
Note: Final year/semester law students are also eligible to apply. But their Applications will be considered only on production of all mark lists and percentage certificate/consolidated mark sheets within 45 days from the date of closure of filing of online application
Age Limit of High Court of Kerala Careers:
- Candidates born between 30.05.1996 and 29.05.2002 (But the name of a candidate who attains 28 years of age shall be deleted from the ranked list as and when he/she attains that age)

Selection Process of Kerala High Court Careers:
- Selection will be based on the Viva Voce examination.
- The list of candidates short-listed for viva voce will be published in the recruitment portal.
- The call letters will be ready for download two weeks
- prior to the date of the viva voce, and the matter will be discussed through SMS/e-mail.
- Only 160 candidates with the highest percentage of marks in the LL.B. examination will be called for viva voce.
- If any candidates with the same percentage of marks as that of the 160th candidate, they will also be called for viva- voce
- A weightage of 5% each will be given for a Doctorate in Law and Post graduation in Law while selecting candidates.

Detailed Eligibility – Kerala High Court Job Vacancy 2024:
Educational Qualification :
Assistant:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks OR
- Master’s Degree OR
- Law Degree, awarded or recognised by any of the Universities in Kerala.
- Desirable: Knowledge in Computer Operations.
Note: If a candidate possesses only Bachelor Degree with less than 50% marks, he/she is not eligible to apply for the post. Rounding off to the nearest integer is not allowed. (For eg. 49.5% cannot be rounded off to 50%). SC/ST candidates are exempted from the stipulation of minimum 50% marks in the Bachelors’ Degree Course.
Age Limit of Kerala High Court Careers:

Age relaxation:
- Age concession upto 15 years will be granted to candidates belonging to Blindness and Low Vision and Deaf and hard of hearing categories and 10 years to candidates belonging to other categories of disabilities subject to the condition that in no case upper age limit shall exceed 50 years.
- Age relaxation upto 5 years will be granted to widows, subject to the condition that in no case upper age limit shall exceed 50 years.

Selection Process of Kerala High Court Careers:
- The selection will be on the basis of Objective Test, Descriptive Test and interview.
- The Objective Test will be for 100 Marks to be answered in OMR Answer Sheet and Descriptive Test for 60 marks to be written on separate answer sheets.
- Immediately after the Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.
- The medium of the test will be English. The standard of the questions will be that suitable for candidates with Bachelors’ Degree Qualification.
- The minimum marks for being included in the Short List of candidates to be called for the interview will be 40% in the Objective Test. However, suppose the number of candidates so qualified is disproportionately high. In that case, the number of candidates to be included in the Short List of candidates to be called for the interview will be decided by the High Court having regard to the number of vacancies notified, the number of candidates appointed from the previous list and chances of occurrence of vacancies.
- Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates who are eligible to be included in the Short List of candidates to be called for the interview will only be evaluated.
- There will be no cut off mark for the Descriptive Test.
- The marks obtained in the Objective Test will be added to the marks obtained in the Descriptive Test and Interview for preparing the final rank list.
Scheme of Examination:
- Objective Test: The Objective Test will have 100 questions. Each question will carry 1 mark and for every incorrect answer, 1/4 mark will be deducted. Duration of the Test will be 75 minutes and the topics are as follows:
- General English – 50 marks,
- General Knowledge – 40 Marks (Facts about India & Kerala, Constitution of India, General Science &
- Information Technology and Current Affairs)
- Basic Mathematics & Reasoning – 10 marks.
- Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test with 60 minutes duration (60 Marks) consists of precis, comprehension and short essays.
- Interview: The interview is for 10 marks. The minimum marks for being included in the ranked list will be 35% in the interview.
