ITBP Recruitment 2023: Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has announced notification for Assistant Commandant/Constable (General Duty) Group-‘C’(non-gazetted and non-ministerial) posts under Sports Quota. There are 254 vacancies available for the posts. Candidates with the qualification of B.E/B.Tech/10th can apply. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online. Detailed Eligibility:

Education Qualification: The candidate should pass B.E/B. Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.

Age Limit(As on 15 December 2023): 30 years

  • Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989.

  • Children and dependents of victims were KILLED in the 1984 riots and communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat.

Selection Process:

The selection process will be based on 05 Phases.

PHASE – I:  

  • Verification of Original Documents: The recruitment board will check the candidates’ testimonials. All candidates shall bring original documents/certificates during recruitment tests for verification by the Board.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates qualified in documentation shall be allowed to appear in the Physical Standard Test. The Recruitment Board will carry out a Physical Standard Test to assess their Height, Chest and Weight according to the prescribed physical standard.
  • Physical Efficiency Test(PET): The Physical Test includes 100 Meter Race, 800 Meter Race, Long Jump, and Shot Put.
  • Biometric Identification: Those who qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test must undergo biometric identification.

PHASE – II:

Written Examination: Candidates who qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test shall be called for a written examination. Question papers will be bilingual, i.e. in Hindi & English Questions.

Paper-I (MCQ/ Omr Based)-100 Marks 2 Hours:

  • General awareness: 25 questions, 25 marks
  • Reasoning: 25 questions, 25 marks
  • Numerical Aptitude: 25 questions, 25 marks
  • General English: 25 questions, 25 marks

Paper-II (Subjective)-100 Marks 2 Hours:

Civil Engineering – 15 questions, 100 marks.

  • Part A: 5 Questions for 02 marks each
  • Part B: 5 Questions for 08 marks each
  • Part C: 5 Questions for 10 marks each

Note:  Minimum qualifying marks in each paper shall be 50% for General/OBC/Ex-Servicemen and 45% for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes

PHASE – III:

Interview (Personality Test)- 50 Marks:

  • Candidates shortlisted for interview shall produce the original certificates/documents mentioned above at the interview. This test carries 50 Marks.

  • Professional related experience
    • Below 06 Months 02 Marks
    • From 6 Months & 01 days to 12 Months: 04 Marks
    • From 12 Months & 01 days to 18 Months: 06 Marks
    • From 18 Months & 01 days to 24 Months: 08 Marks
    • Above 24 Month 10 Marks: 10 Marks
  • Personality & Appearance (To be decided by Interview Board): 10 Marks
  • General Awareness (To be decided by Interview Board): 10 Marks
  • Extra Curricular activities: (Sport/Debate/Dramatics/music/Photography NSS/NCC): 10 Marks

Merit List:

  • Merit lists in each category, namely, UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, ESM and OBC(NCL), will be drawn based on total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview.
  • In case of tie-in marks, the candidate with older age will be placed higher in the merit list; if the tie persists, then the candidate whose name comes first in the alphabet order (English) will be kept higher in the merit list.

Detailed Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates must undergo DME to assess their fitness.

PHASE – IV:

Review Medical Examination:

  • Candidates declared unfit during a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) will be allowed to undergo a Review Medical Examination (RME).
  • The decision of the ITBPF Board of Medical Officers shall be final for declaring a candidate Fit or Unfit in DME/RME.

Application Fees:

  • Male candidates belonging to the UR/OBC category applying for recruitment to the above posts should pay Rs 400/-
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Females and Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the fee.
