Education Qualification: 

Assistant Surgeon (Assistant Commandant/Veterinary): 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from a recongnised university.
• Registration with the Veterinary Council of India.

Age Limit (As on 24 December 2024): 35 years (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 24.12.1989 and later than 24.12.2006)

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen (UR/General): 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age.
• Ex-Servicemen (SC/ST): 8 years (3 years + 5 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age.
• Ex-Servicemen (OBC): 6 years (3 years + 3 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age.
• Government Servant (Central Government Civilian Employees): 05 Years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.
• Children and dependent of victims KILLED in the 1984 riots OR communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat:
  • UR/EWS-5 years
  • OBC (NCL)- (3+5) 8 years
  • SC & ST- (5+5) 10 years

Selection Process of ITBP Careers:

• The selection process will be based on the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Biometric Identification, Written Examination, Verification of Documents, Interview, Merit List, Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME).

Biometric Identification: Those who qualify for PST will be subjected to biometric identification to obviate impersonation by the candidates.

Written Examination: 

• The candidates who qualify PET/PST shall be required to pass the written examination consisting of following:
• Minimum qualifying marks in written examination in each papers separately shall be 50% for General/Ex-Servicemen/EWS and 45% for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class(NCL).
• The duration of the written test will be 2 hours

Verification of Documents:

• The original documents of candidates will be checked by the Board of Officers before interview.
• Original documents will be returned on the spot after verification and photocopies will be retained with the application form.

Interview – 50 Marks:

• The candidates declared qualified in the Written examinations and equal to five times the number of vacancies advertised in each category will be put through an Interview.
• Candidates will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of marks secured in written test.
• The interview will consist of previous experience (05| Marks), Additional Qualification (05 Marks), Extra – curricular activities viz sports & NCC (10 Marks) Professional knowledge (20 Marks) and a Personality Test (10 Marks)

Merit List:

• Merit lists in each category will be drawn on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview.

Detailed Medical Examination: Category-wise candidates shortlisted for DVME on the basis of marks secured by them in written examination and interview shall undergo DME so as to assess their fitness for appointment in ITBPF as per prescribed standards.

• B.E. in Electronics and Communication or Instrumentation or Computer Science or Electrical or Information Technology from a recognised University or Institution;   OR
• Associate Member of Institution of Electronics and Communication or Instrumentation or Computer Science or Electrical or Information Technology Engineers or equivalent from a recognised University or Institution.

Head Constable (Telecommunication):

• 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics having an aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board or university; OR
• 10th Class pass from a recognised board with two years Industrial Training Institute certificate in Electronics or Electrical or Computer from a recognised Institute;  OR
• 10th Class pass from a recognised board with Science (PCM) and with a year’s Diploma in Electronics or Communication or Instrumentation or Computer Science or Information Technology or Electrical from a recognised Institute.

Constable (Telecommunication):

• Essential: Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.
• Desirable: Diploma or certificate course from an Industrial Training Institute or any other recognized institution.
