HPPSC Recruitment 2023: Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has announced notification for the Mining Inspector/Assistant Mining Inspector/Assistant Engineer/Scientific Officer post on a contract basis. Candidates with B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc/M.Sc/Ph.D/12th qualifications are eligible to apply for this post. There are 15 openings for this post. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online. Mining Inspector:
- B.Sc. Degree in Science with Geology or its equivalent from a recognized University.
- Desirable Qualification: Two years practical experience in the line. ii. Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.
Assistant Mining Inspector:
- 10+2 in Science.
- Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.
- Two years practical experience in the line from Govt or Semi Govt Organization or registered mining contractor.
Age Limit ( As on 01 January 2023): 18 – 45 Years
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxable by five years for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes /Persons with disabilities and Children/Grand Children of freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh as declared by the Govt. from time to time.
- The age relaxation for these categories shall be admissible only if there is a post reserved for these categories.
- Five years relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible only to the Bonafide S.C. of H.P. / S.T. of H.P. / O.B.C. of H.P./W.F.F. of H.P./Persons with disabilities of Himachal Pradesh. For H.P. Govt. employees and-Servicemen of H.P.;
- Age relaxation is as per the Government’s instructions issued from time to time and as mentioned in detail under title Age Limits.
- The age relaxation for bonafide S.C. of H.P. / S.T. ofH.P. / O.B.C. of H.P. /W.F.F. of H.P./ Persons with disabilities of Himachal Pradesh/ Ex. Servicemen of H.P. are available only if a post is reserved for these categories.
Salary:
- Mining Inspector: Rs. 28900 – 91600/-
- Assistant Mining Inspector: Rs. 25600 – 81200/-

Selection Process:
- Selection to various Class-III posts falling under the preview of the Commission shall be made as per the rules /instructions of the Government which presently stipulates that the same shall be done based on written examination /test (Computer Based Test / Offline Test) only.
- In all such cases, selection will be done by the Commission by subjecting the applicants to two types of papers having objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with negative marking forincorrect/ wrong answers in the following manner
- Paper -I:
- A Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of one hour duration consisting of 50 Questions having 100 marks as follows:
- General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh = 30 Marks
- General knowledge of National and International Affairs= 30 Marks
- Knowledge of Hindi language = 20 Marks
- Knowledge of English language = 20 Marks
- This paper will be a qualifying paper only and candidates are required to obtain 35% pass marks in this paper.
- Paper -II:
- A Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) (objective type) of two hours duration having 100 marks as per the syllabus to be decided by the Commission from time to time.
- Provided that test shall be conducted in a single slot with the same question papers and in different slots with different sets of question papers depending upon the total number of candidates who have to take the test and the number of computer terminals available to the Commission at the particular date for Computer Based Screening Test.
- Also both the Papers will be conducted on the same day in morning and evening sessions at any place in Himachal Pradesh as per decision of the Commission.

- Candidates of Other States: Rs. 400/-
- Male candidates of SC, ST, OBC and EWS: Rs. 100/-

- In all other cases, the selection will be done by the Commission by subjecting the applicants to two types of written papers/ tests to be conducted on the same day in two sessions, followed by a Personality Test in the following manner:
- There shall be a negative marking(0.25) in all the objective type screening tests/ examinations
- Minimum pass marks in the Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) to qualify for the Personality Test shall be 35% for the candidates of the General category and 30 % for the candidates of reserved categories.
