Detailed Eligibility – East Central Railway Vacancy:
Educational Qualification:
Sports Quota Posts:
For the post of Pay Level 4/5:
- Minimum Graduation in any Discipline from a recognised University.
For the post of Pay Level 2/3:
- Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its Equivalent Examination OR
- Passed Matriculation plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship OR
- Passed Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT OR
- Passed 10th from a recognized Board may also eligible to be posted as Tech-III. However the training period for appointees will be 03 years unless they pass /possess ITI in the relevant trade in which 06 months.
Note:
- Diploma in Engineering will as an alternative higher qualification against ITI.
- Persons if appointed to the category of Clerk-cum-Typist should acquire Typing proficiency Test of 30 w.p.m. in in Hindi within a period of four years from the date of appoint time their appointments, to this category will be provisional.
- For the post of Pay Level 1 – 10th Pass from Any recognized Board OR ITI OR equivalent OR National Apprenticeship granted by NCVT.
Minimum sports norms for recruitment
For the post of Pay Level 4/5:
- Represented the country in any of the Category- A Championship/events, OR
- At least 3rd Position in any of the Category -B Championships/events.
For the post of Pay Level 2/3:
- Represented the country in any of the Category- B Championship/events. OR
- At least 3rd position in any of the Category- C Championship/events. OR
- At least 3rd positions in Senior/Youth/ Junior National Championship OR
- Atleast 3rd position in National Games organized underaegis of Indian Olympic Association. OR
- At least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities. OR
- 1st positon in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category)
For the post of Pay Level 1:
- Represented the country in any of the Category – C Championship/events. OR
- At least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championship (Senior Category). OR
- Represented a State of equivalent Unit, except in Marathon and Cross Country with at least 8″ position in Senior National championships only.

Selection Process of East Central Railway Jobs:
- Selection will be based on performance in Trial, evaluaton of Sports achievements, evaluation of Educational Achievements etc. as per rule/instructions of Railway administration.
- Only the candidates declared FIT in the Trial will be considered for next stage of selection.
- Panel will be prepared on the basis of merit. In case more than one sportspersons secured the same marks, preference will be given to younger candidate to decide the merit.
- No marks shall be given to the candidates who declared UNFIT in the Trial for their sports achievements, etc.
- No communication shall be entertained from candidates in this regard.
Conduct of Trial:
- Trial of candidates shall be conducted to assess their sports performance/suitability for the team of E. C. Railway.
- Candidates found FIT in the Trial will be considered for next stage selection.
- The following is the format of marks for the trial:-
- Maximum Marks for Trial – 40 Marks
- FIT candidates – 25 Marks or more
- UNFIT candidates – Below 25 Marks
- After Trial only the fit candidates shall be considered for the next stage i.e. document verification.
- Only candidates declared FIT in Trial and attending document verification shall be awarded the marks for the sports achievements, educational qualifications etc.
- No marks shall be given to the candidates declared UNFIT in the Trial for their sports achievements etc.
- No communication shall be entertained from candidates in this regard.
Distribution of Marks:
- Maximum marks which can be awarded in the Trial and Assessment of Sports Achievements/Educational Qualification during interview shall be as follows:
- Performance during Trial – 40 Marks
- Assessment of Sports Achievements – 50 Marks
- Educational Qualification – 10 Marks
- Total – 100 Marks

- For candidates belonging to SC/ST, Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes: Rs. 250/- (Rs. 250/- will be refunded to candidates appearing in the trial)
Mode of Payment: IPO (Indian Postal Order) should be pledged in favour of ‘FA&CAO, East Central Railway’ and payable at Hajipur.

Documents to be attached:
- The given format should be neatly typed or hand written either in English or Hindi on a A-4 size paper and should be filled in own hand writing.
- One passport size photograph should be pasted at the specific space on the application form duly signed on the top by the candidate.
- Two similar passport size photographs (same as affixed in the application form duly signed on the top) should be clipped along with the Application Form.
- Self Attested copies of all the certificates in support of age, caste (applicable for Central Government services), educational qualification, sports achievements & other qualifications should be enclosed along with the Application.
- All applications should be accompanied with Indian Postal Order of prescribed amount (in favour of FA&CAO, East Central Railway” payable at Hajipur).
